For many that would be such a waste of time, but I loved it.

For me, it was the perfect opportunity for me to pull out my collection of pre-sharpened pencils and draw. There are several pictures in this collection that have gone on to become well-known, and yet they too started as simple colored pencils on a pad, drawn with the train bouncing around and learning to create with that movement.

The truth is, many of these pieces were just too good to not do something more with them. Most ‘famously’, “Sensing the Tape” and “Freefalling Angel” were both also created whilst on a train, headed to work.
